There are numerous ways to get a vintage glow filter in Photoshop. I’ve watched countless Youtube videos and I’ve done mine a number of ways. This way is super simple. Ha! So stayed tuned!
What you need to create a Vintage filter:
Yep, that’s all you need…mostly patience. It takes awhile to learn what types of filters look good on your photos. I am still learning but I found this simple way today and it’s easy enough I wanted to share it!
Start by opening a photo with Photoshop.
After opening the photo add another layer by pushing Command J. Now you will have another layer on top of your photo called Layer 1. You can now edit on Layer 1 and not disturb the original photo incase you want to start over.
Next open the curves tool.
As you can see I pulled down on the curves tool just a bit, and then pulled up on the bottom point. This gives the photo a bit of muted contrast.
Now open the Color Balance tool.
With the color balance give your photo just a bit of yellow on the midtones.
That’s it! Super simple! Here’s a Before and After so you can see the results.
Huzzah! Now for some coffee and dessert!
